Why you will love using a Pressure Cooker.
Green beans are the perfect healthy side that goes with almost anything. This green bean recipe can fit with most diets and is so fresh and healthy.
What I love about straight-up pressure-cooked vegetables, like many instant pot recipes, is that they’re keto, paleo, WW, and Whole30-approved!
As an added bonus, it is kid-friendly and easy for everyone to help you in the kitchen! There are many ways to cook green beans, but the instant pot is one of my favorites. It is a great recipe for those families & always on the go.
Pressure cookers have been around for a long time but have, in the past year, become immensely popular. One of the main reasons is because food is done in nearly an instant! (see what I did there?)
Why you will love Garlic Green Beans
These green beans are made from all the good stuff – fresh green beans, butter, garlic, and salt! No need to hide the natural tastes to clear them from the plate and take advantage of all the healthy benefits of feeding your body great food.
There is something so satisfying about eating straight-up veggies just smothered and soaked in butter. This is a side dish with a WOW factor-
Ingredients
- 1 pound of fresh green beans
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tbsp. garlic
- 1 cup of water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- this recipe does not use a steamer basket
Prepping Fresh Green Beans
You can usually find them in a bag with snapped stems in the vegetable department. They come in 2-pound bags at Walmart, and you can enjoy many fresh green bean recipes with them. This particular recipe takes 1 pound of green beans.
- To get started, you will want to clean your beans. I rinse beans under cold water. If necessary, snap the stem end of each side of the green bean.
- *Like peeling potatoes, this is a great job for a little helper if you have kids who like participating in the kitchen.

How to make Green Beans in Instant Pot
To get started, add raw and prepped green beans, 2 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, 1 cup of water, and salt and pepper to taste into the instant pot.

Cover with IP lid.
Push the steam release handle to the sealing position.

Set your Instant Pot to High pressure, 0 minutes, quick release.

Once your green beans in the Instant Pot are complete, move the steam release handle to vent.
It’s advisable to use tongs or oven mitts when dealing with the steam valve to avoid burns.
Wait for steam to be completely released.
Again, remember that steam burns are horrible, so when using an Instant Pot or pressure cooker (as with all cooking), please be extra careful!
Remove green beans with tongs (these are my favorite ones!), serve them hot, dripping in butter, and maybe some cheddar cheese, and enjoy!

What pressure cooker is best used?
If you do not have one, the most popular brand is Instant Pot.
Instant Pot’s ease of usage and the variety of recipes available make it a top choice. There are many sizes and kinds of Instant Pot Pressure cookers on the market. I still love to purchase from Amazon because I love the ease of comparing prices, styles, and reviews.
If you do not have an IP, here are a few to check out that might be a good fit for your family, from budget pressure cookers to larger ones for a family of 6 or more.
