Lime Sherbet Punch

Lime sherbet punch is one of those recipes that makes everyone come back for seconds (and thirds). It’s colorful, refreshing, and takes just minutes to pull together.

Best of all, this kid-friendly punch (made with Sprite) is perfect for any occasion, from birthday parties and baby showers to pretty much all the seasonal holidays.

If you’ve ever wondered how to make sherbert punch, this recipe is as simple as it gets: lime sherbet, pineapple juice, Sprite, and a handful of cherries for garnish. It looks fancy on the table, but takes less than 10 minutes to whip together and is a party hit.

  • Sherbet vs. Sherbert: The official spelling is sherbet, but since most people search sherbert punch, you’ll see both used here so people can find this recipe.

Punch Ingredients

  • 1 (48 oz.) container lime sherbet
  • 1 (1 liter) bottle Sprite (or 7UP)
  • 1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 (4 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • 1 large pitcher or punch bowl (at least 88 oz. capacity)

Personal tip: I always chill the ingredients ahead of time. Cold soda keeps the fizz longer, and adding citrus slices on top makes it taste brighter and look party-ready.

How to Make Sherbert Party Punch with Sprite

Scoop lime sherbet into the bottom of a punch bowl or pitcher.

add a lot of lime sherbet to bottom of pitcher

Pour in Sprite (or your soda of choice) and half a bottle of chilled pineapple juice. Stir gently.

add pineapple juice on top of Sherbet

Float maraschino cherries and citrus slices on top for garnish.

Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.

Holiday Sherbet Punch Ideas

This recipe doubles as a fun green sherbert punch for Halloween when served in a black cauldron. During the holidays, it transforms into a festive Grinch Punch, and you can pair it with my Christmas Tree Cocktail for the adults at the party.

You can also swap lime for raspberry or orange sherbet to match the season’s colors.

Punch Variations and Substitutions

Best Sherbet Flavors
Rainbow sherbert is always popular, but lime, orange, raspberry, and lemon all work well. Lime sherbet makes a beautiful green base and pairs perfectly with pineapple juice.

Which Soda Works Best?
Sprite is the classic choice for a Sprite sherbert punch, but 7UP or Mountain Dew gives the same lemon-lime fizz. For a slightly spicier flavor, substitute ginger ale.

Can I Add Ice Cream?
Yes! Adding vanilla ice cream turns this into a float-style punch that’s very creamy. There really is no “wrong” way to make punch tbh.

Making It Adult-Friendly
Looking for a more adult version of punch? Try adding flavored Rums (Brinly has Lime flavor, Bacardi has Lemon or Orange, and Cruzan has Pineapple) or flavored vodka, such as Skinnygirl Tangerine or Absolut Grapefruit.

Serving and Party Tips

How Many Glasses of Punch?
This recipe makes about 17 small glasses (5 oz. each) or 10–12 larger servings (8 oz. each).

Punch Bowl or Pitcher?
Either works. I use a punch bowl with a ladle for large parties, but a pitcher is easier for smaller groups. Overall you just want to make sure its a larger capacity.
